April, May & June:
Springtime is Coho Salmon Mania - The arrival of warmer weather is the best time to see a lot of fast action with many limits of
Coho Salmon weighing in at 3 to 7 lbs.
The 2008 season saw many Lake Michigan Coho Salmon weighing over 8 lbs. It was a great season and 2009 is just
as promising. The fisherman planning a trip at this time of the year can experience some of the best fishing for trophy Rainbows and Large Lake Trout.
July through August:
Summer is in full swing with beautiful weather and great fishing. Lake Trout is exceptional during the “dog days of summer” and they range from 3 lbs to over 25lbs.
September through November:
This is when the Lake Michigan Chinook Salmon come home to Waukegan Harbor to spawn.
These are truly trophy size fish. They are normally caught in shallow water, with trophy Lake Michigan King Salmon ranging between 20 to 35 lbs.
